VunemiVunemi guide
Vunemi is a personal assistant built for local models. Its first macOS release is available, and development continues. This guide describes version 0.1.2; features may change in later releases.
Release status
Vunemi 0.1.2 is available on GitHub for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. The app is signed but not yet notarized by Apple. The release page has installation steps and the SHA-256 checksum.
Choose a model
Select a model in the app. On supported Macs, you can use the built-in engine or a local model served by LM Studio, Ollama or llama.cpp. Availability depends on your Mac and installed models. Response speed, image understanding and results on complex tasks can vary with the model and your computer's specifications.
Open connections
Connections start off. Open only what you need in Settings › Connections. Reading and actions can have separate approvals, and macOS may show its own permission prompt. You make those decisions.
Data and privacy
With a local model, model inference runs on your Mac. When you connect an online service, the data needed for that action may go to that service. Check its scope before connecting.
Safety boundaries
Vunemi does not enter passwords, card or identity details for you, solve CAPTCHAs, make payments or permanently delete data. Only you approve sensitive action cards.
Permission problem?
If Desktop Control remains off after you grant Accessibility, quit Vunemi completely and reopen it. The macOS permission and the connection inside Vunemi are separate steps; then try again in Connections.
Community contributions
Vunemi's source code is public on GitHub. Before contributing or reusing the code, read the repository's contribution guidelines, GPL-3.0 license and trademark terms.
For developers
The codebase combines Electron and TypeScript packages with a native macOS helper. Development needs Node 22+, pnpm 11 and macOS. Run type checks and tests after changes, and verify macOS permissions in a packaged app.
